SPEARVILLE - Beryl Hitz, 89, died Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Minneola Long Term Care, Minneola.

She was born October 18, 1927 in Kingsdown, Kansas to Owen and Edna (Berger) Ingels. She was a longtime Kingsdown resident graduating from Kingsdown High School. She worked as a dietician at the Hill Top House in Bucklin for 17 years. She was a member of the Kingsdown Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School and Bible School. She was also a member of the Ladies of the Moose, Dodge City, a former member of the Eastern Star where she held most stations, the Progressive Club of Kingsdown, was a Den Mother with the Cub Scouts and a volunteer at the Hill Top Budget Shop.

On May 24, 1945 she married Merle Hitz at the First Presbyterian Church in Dodge City. He preceded her in death on September 26, 2011.

Survivors include; her son Mike Hitz and wife Yvonne, Spearville; her daughter, Gayla Kirmer and husband Kurt, Spearville; 5 grandchildren, Quinten Hitz, Mikaela Vega, Neal Kirmer, Kelsey Burnett and Devyn Royle and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Dennis Hitz, brother, Lester Ingels and a sister Lavergne Schoonover.

Funeral service will be 10:30 am Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Kingsdown Presbyterian Church, Kingsdown, with Pastor Susie Woods officiating. Burial will follow at the Bucklin Cemetery, Bucklin. Per Beryl's request, there will be no public viewing.
