BUCKLIN - Betty Drake, 81, died Monday, August 28, 2017 at her home in Bucklin.

She was born June 25, 1936 in Fredricktown, Missouri, the daughter of Henry and Emma (Head) Edmond. She graduated high school in Farmington, Missouri. She had been a Bucklin resident since August of 1996, moving from Ford, and worked as a nurses aide at Hill Top House in Bucklin for over 18 years , after retirement she spent her time taking care of her husband and babysitting. Betty had a very special heart for those needing extra love and she gave it freely. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

Betty's hobbies were quilting, canning and gardening. She enjoyed watching her roses bloom.

On June 9, 1959 she married Ted Drake at Dodge City. He preceded her in death on July 2, 2012.

Survivors include: her 4 children, Dan Drake and companion, Vicki Morris, Oklahoma, Ernie Drake and wife Missy, Spearville, Teddy Drake, Jr. and wife Krissy, Texas and Cindy Drake, Greeley, Colorado; her brother, Orville Edmond, Fredricktown, Missouri; 12 grandchildren raising Cherri, Teddy and Katie; 27 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; and several nephews and nieces.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Minnis Mortuary, Bucklin, with Paul Deweese officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 pm Saturday in Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday at Minnis Mortuary.
