Obituary

MINNEOLA, KANSAS- Beverly Ann Pike, 91, of Minneola, Kansas, went home to her Lord and Savior on July 5, 2024. Beverly was born on December 11, 1932 in Minneola, Kansas, the daughter of the late Chester and Oma Young. She was the baby of five children and was preceded in death by siblings Lawrence Young, Lola Rankin, Chloe Wyatt and Juanita McInteer.

Beverly graduated from Minneola High School in 1950. Following graduation, she married Nathan Pike, the true love of her life. They lived in Minneola until relocating to the Pike Ranch in 1952. To this union three sons were born Chris, Brad and Byron. Beverly built a home on love and perseverance. She was well known for her noon meals, especially her desserts. The boys, hired help and the grandkids could often be found around the dinner table on any day. She was an active and proud member of the Minneola United Methodist Church, a church her family helped build. Beverly was a longtime Minneola District Hospital board member. Along with running a ranch with Nathan, she became involved in the Kansas Livestock Association, CowBelles and later on, with Nathan, was one of the founding members of the Kansas Cattlemen's Association. She was also a part of very special group of friends. Their daily phone calls were a must! But above all else, she was a wife, sister, mother, grandma and grammy great. Nothing made her more proud than her family. Beverly is survived by her sons, Brad Pike (Sandy) and Byron Pike (Lisa) of Minneola; grandchildren, Heather Grigsby (Brandon) of Ashland, Missi Ryherd (Jerrod) of Overland Park, and Jamie Pike (Jeana) of Minneola; great grandchildren, Reese Grigsby (Kash McPhail) of Manhattan, Britt and Kashlee Grigsby of Ashland and Cole and Brooks Ryherd of Overland Park, Kansas; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Chris and husband, Nathan Pike.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 12, at 2:00 pm at the CrossWalk Christian Church in Minneola with Rev. Kip Ryherd and Suzie Woods officiating.
