BUCKLIN - David K. Bachelor, 72, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016 at his residence in Bucklin. He was born October 16, 1943 in Kansas City, Missouri to Jesse Fred and Doris Evelyn (Bolinger) Bachelor. David graduated from Bucklin High School in1961. He was a radio broadcaster, noted for (in this area) broadcasting the play­ by-play for the Dodge City Legends basketball team. In his early years he was a salesman for Fowler Furniture, Dodge City, and then owned and operated, with his sister, Nancy, Bachelor's of Bucklin furniture store. He later was a Factory Rep. for the Prestige Furniture Co. of Council Bluff, Iowa. Most recently he was the Advertising Consultant for Bucklin Tractor & Implement Co. He attended Emporia State University and graduated from the Kansas City Career Academy of Broadcasting. He was a member of the Bucklin United Methodist Church, Bucklin Lions Club and had served on the Bucklin City Council.

David married Letty Ann Estes February 10, 1974 in El Paso, Texas. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Patrick David (Julie) of Lenexa and Judson Cash (Amber) of Overland Park; a daughter LynAnn Bowman (Craig) of Bucklin; a sister Nancy Ann Dickson (Dale) of Dodge City and 13 grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2016 at the Bucklin High School Auditorium with Pastor Rick Jones officiating .Visitation is Sunday from 2 - 4 p.m. at Minnis Mortuary, Bucklin.
