BUCKLIN – James "Jim" Cuer, 90, died Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at his home in Bucklin.

He was born April 27, 1933 at Cherryvale, Kansas the son of Howard Blake and Olive Mary (Wilson) Cuer.  He attended school in Kingsdown and received his Master's from George Washington University. He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955.  He was a Hospital Administrator the Veterans Administration working in Danville, Illinois, Ft. Lyon, Colorado, Washington, D.C., Iowa City, Iowa, Sheridan, Wyoming, Buffalo, New York, Kansas City, Missouri and Leavenworth, Kansas, retiring in the early 80's.

On September 7, 1952 he married Vila Mae Ellis in Kingsdown.  She preceded him in death on October 21, 2006.  He later married Betty Jane Hamlin at Greensburg. She preceded him in death on January 11, 2021.

Survivors include: 2 daughters, Linda Rehder and husband Dale, Ranchester, Wyoming and Kim Pelesky and husband Don, Sheridan, Wyoming; a son, Jeff Cuer, Bucklin; 6 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Jane Merrill and a grandson, Aaron Rehder.

Graveside service will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at the Bucklin Cemetery with David Johnson officiating.  There will be no public viewing, the casket will remain closed.
