SPEARVILLE - Joan C. Indiek, 77, died Monday, May 15, 2017 at Presbyterian Manor of the Plains, Dodge City.

She was born July 16, 1939 in Hodgeman County the daughter of Paul and Cecilia (Simons) Dixon. A longtime Spearville resident, she owned and operated Joan's Beauty Shop in Spearville from 1957 till 2007.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, St. John Altar Society, Daughters of Isabella, all of Spearville and Happy Hour Extension Club.

On May 3, 1958 she married Anthony "Tony" H. Indiek at St. Mary's Church in Hodgeman County.

Survivors include: her husband, Tony; 2 sons, Rocky Indiek and companion Christena Jackson, Dodge City and Jerome Indiek and wife Amy, Spearville; a daughter, Karen Lewis and husband Jay, Wheeler, Texas; 2 sisters, Pauline Meyer and husband Dale, Kinsley and Jeanette Davis, Pagosa Springs, Colorado; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Michael "Mike" Dixon, infant sister, Mary Lou Dixon and her grandson, Jamison Indiek.

Daughters of Isabella rosary will be at 4:00 pm Thursday and vigil service at 7:00 pm Thursday, May 18, 2017 both at St. John the Baptist Church. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Friday, May 19, 2017 at the church with Fr. John Forkuoh presiding. Burial will follow the mass at St. John Cemetery, Spearville.
