Obituary

FORD – Kareé Leigh Stout, 65, passed away September 15, 2023, at her home surrounded by those who loved her. She was born May 3, 1958, in Riverton, Wyoming, the daughter of John H. "Jack" Smith and Norma (Johnston) Snyder. She was a graduate of Mullinville High School and a longtime area resident.  She served in many different office management positions, including administrative assistant for the Kansas Department of Health and Environment until retiring in 2018.

On July 24, 1987, she married Les Stout at the Dodge City Church of the Nazarene.  He survives. Other survivors include: her son, Benjamin Stout and wife Regina, Wichita; 3 daughters, Andrea Kirkwood and husband Brendel, Garfield; Beki Williamson and husband Chris, rural Sedgwick County; and Jessica Stout, Ford; her mother, Norma Snyder, California; 8 grandchildren; her brother, Larry Smith, Ford; and 2 sisters, Kim Conley and husband Dan, California; and Angela Dow, Goodland; as well as multiple nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and her step-father, R.G. Snyder.

She spent her life loving her husband, children, grandchildren and extended family and friends. In addition, she could be found quilting, bowling, putting together puzzles or legos with her grandchildren, winning jackpots, and "outfishing" her husband. Karee will be remembered for her generous and compassionate spirit, her strong will and independent nature, her love of laughter, her friendliness and special way of putting others at ease, and her strength throughout the challenges life threw her way. Karee's greatest service was as a caregiver who endeavored to love Jesus' way. She trusted in Him for salvation and taught her children to do the same. She will be greatly missed.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at the Ford Cemetery with Rev. David Graves officiating.  There will be no public visitation; the casket will remain closed.
