MINNEOLA – Katherine "Katie" M. Johnson, 90, passed away on March 20, 2018 at the Minneola District Hospital. She was born July 17, 1927 at Fowler, Kansas the daughter of Jim and Lillie (Vink) Houser. Katie grew up on a farm south of Fowler and attended Minneola High School and graduated with the class of 1945.

On October 6, 1946 she married Raymond L. Johnson at Minneola, Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 28, 1989.

Katie and Raymond farmed for many years on the farm south of Minneola and the family farm continues to this day. She was a member of the Christian Church in Minneola where she played piano for many years. Katie was active in the community throughout her life.

Survivors include: 3 sons, Michael "Mick" Johnson and wife Angi, Minneola, Steven Johnson and wife Janice, Kenneth Square, Pennsylvania, Gary Johnson and wife Carol, Dodge City, Kansas; daughter in law, Deborah Johnson, Mission, Kansas; brother, Jim Houser and wife Barbara, Minneola; sister, Ina Krob, Concordia, Kansas; 8 grandchildren, Lindsay, Lesley, Katie, Sara Beth, James, Kimberly, Ryan and Matt; and 13 great grandchildren.

Katie was also preceded in death by her parents and a son, J. Bruce Johnson.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018, 2:00 pm at Minnis Mortuary, Minneola with Paul Chang officiating. Burial will follow in Appleton Township Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Minnis Mortuary, Minneola.
