BUCKLIN - Leila D. Leon, 95, died Monday, March 19, 2018 at the Minneola District Hospital, Minneola, Kansas.

She was born March 18, 1923 in McPherson, Kansas the daughter of Manuel and Maria (Rodriguez) Delgado. A Bucklin resident since 1966, moving from Minneola, she was a homemaker.  Leila's greatest joy were her children and grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Greensburg.

On April 26, 1941 she married Cipriano Leon at Garden City.  He preceded her in death on June 14, 1979.

Leila is survived by her 8 children; Robert Leon and companion Sandra, Brighton, Michigan, Arlene Allen and husband James, Allen, Texas, Mary Sturd and husband Howard, Emporia, Alfred Leon and  wife Diana, Gold Canyon, Arizona, Rhonda Davis and husband Mark, Bucklin, Mickey Leon and wife Marcia, Quinter, Kansas, Michael Leon and wife Kathy, Bucklin and  Moni Immell and husband Greg, Mullinville; her sister, Josephine Archuletta, Pittsburg, California; 38 grandchildren, 88 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons, Joseph and Pete Leon, her daughter, Nancy Allen, 6 brothers, Frank, Julian, John, Mickey, Paul and Joe Delgado and two sisters, Mary Rojas and Lola Barnett.

Vigil service will be at 7:00 pm Thursday, March 22, 2018 at St. Joseph Church in Greensburg. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am Friday, March 23, 2018 at the church with Fr. Robert Schremmer presiding. Burial will follow in the Bucklin Cemetery.  Viewing will be Thursday from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at the church.
