MULLINVILLE - Myron Thomas "M.T." Liggett, 86, died Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.

He was born December 28, 1930 in Mullinville, Kansas, the son of Wilbur E. "Earl" and Edna (Brensing) Liggett. A lifetime Mullinville resident, he graduated from Mullinville High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy for 6 years and served during the Korean War. He then joined the United States Air Force serving during the Vietnam War, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant until retiring in 1971. After retiring from the military, he received his Bachelor Degree from Ft Hays State University, and attended UNLV School of Law. He was a nationally know artist and strived to leave his legacy on the community of Mullinville, Kansas.

Survivors include: his son, James Wiley Liggett and wife RoxAnne, Wichita; daughter, Vickie Burns, Amarillo, Texas; son, Myron Thomas Liggett, Jr., San Jose, California; brother, Earl Liggett, Jr., St. David, Arizona;grandchildren, James Thomas Liggett, serving in the United States Army; Isaac Liggett, Yuma, Arizona; Lucine Smith, Santa Rosa, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, Dr. Byron Timothy Liggett, Dr. Marvin Seth Liggett, Wilbur Bryce Liggett, Siboney Max Liggett, and sister, Jean Marie Schowengerdt.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm Monday, August 21, 2017 at Hillcrest Cemetery, Mullinville, Kansas with John Hamm officiating. Full military honors by Julius F. Troehmel American Legion Post 269 and the United States Air Force. There will be no public viewing. The casket will remain closed.
