MINNEOLA - Norman E. Harris, 80, died Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the Minneola Long Term Care Unit.

He was born March 14, 1937 at Minneola the son of Earl and Edith (Foster) Harris. A lifetime Minneola resident, he worked as a custodian for USD 219, Minneola, for 26 years, retiring in 1995.

He was a member of the Minneola United Methodist Church.

On June 10, 1956 he married Marilyn Moody at Minneola.

Survivors include: his wife, Marilyn, Dodge City; 2 sons, Brad Harris and wife Fredonia, Holton, Kansas and Mike Harris, Garden City; a daughter, Darcy Harris, Minneola; a brother, Ronald Harris, Minneola; 2 sisters, Doris Tabor, Garden City and Margaret Davis, Meade; 6 grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Phyllis Poulain.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday, September 22, 2017 at Minnis Mortuary Chapel, Minneola, with Pastor Suzie Woods officiating. Burial will follow at Appleton Township Cemetery, near Minneola. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday at the mortuary.
