Richard Lee Bennett's Obituary
MINNEOLA, KANSAS – Richard Lee Bennett, 77, died Saturday, November 5, 2016 at his home in Minneola.
He was born February 16, 1939 at Fowlerville, Michigan, the son of Thomas Jack and Fern (Lewis) Bennett. He was a self employed contractor and for the last 6 years spent time between Minneola and Michigan.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
On July 27, 1974 he married Ann Pung at East Lansing, Michigan. She preceded him in death in 2010.
Survivors include: a son, Rick Bennett, Holt, Michigan; 4 daughters, Tracy Bennett, Holt, Michigan, Carla Bennett, Lansing, Michigan, Denise Dewitt, Lansing, Michigan and Tasha Schaffer and husband Dale, Minneola; a brother, Larry Bennett and wife Toni, Lansing, Michigan; 18 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Appleton Township Cemetery, Minneola, with Rev. Jeff Turner officiating. Visitation with the family present will be Tuesday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Minnis Mortuary, Minneola.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice of the Prairie in care of Minnis Mortuary, P.O. Box 459, Minneola, Kansas 67865.
