Velma H. Toner Brensing's Obituary
GREENSBURG - Velma H. Toner Brensing, 94, died Monday, April 3, 2017 at Presbyterian Manor of the Plains, Dodge City.
She was born March 31, 1923 at St. John, Kansas the daughter of Earl and Bessie (True) Vreeland. She was a longtime Kiowa County resident and a retired Registered Nurse.
She was a member of St. Joseph Church, Greensburg.
On August 28, 1943 she married James "Buzz" Arthur Toner at Dodge City. He preceded her in death on October 10, 1965. On November 23, 1966 she married Gail Brensing at Greensburg. He preceded her in death on September 18, 1989.
Survivors include: her 2 sons, Mike Toner, Mullinville and Chuck Toner, Greensburg; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Pat Toner, a daughter, Sarah Toner and an infant brother.
Vigil service will be 7:00 pm Thursday, April 6, 2017 at St. Joseph Church, Greensburg. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Friday at the church with Fr. Robert Schremmer presiding. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Mullinville.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Hospice of the Prairie or Manor of the Plains, both in care of Minnis Mortuary, P.O. Box 516, Bucklin, Kansas 67834.
