MINNEOLA - Verda Mae Raser 96, died Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the Minneola Long Term Care with daughter Deena by her side.
She was born January 12, 1928 to parents Ivens and Frances (Moser) Guthrie at home in Woodward Co., Oklahoma. She attended school in Mutual, Oklahoma. She read all the books in the small library they had because she was an avid reader and continued reading the rest of her life. She graduated as valedictorian.
She then went to Salt City Business College in Hutchinson Kansas where she met her future husband M.H. They married in Canadian, Texas on August 14, 1947.

When Verda retired, she decided she needed something more to do than just read or crochet. If she did not have a stack of books on hand to read, she would have daughter Deena get her more. She then went to work for the Civic Connection where she was manager for 26 years.
She was a member of the Minneola Community church.
Survivors are daughters, Deena Raser of Minneola and Lorri Raser Jackson and special son-in -law, Cornell of Mount Pleasant, Michigan; daughters of the heart, Evelyn Clark, Hutchinson, Chris Lang, Minneola and Denise Owen, Wichita.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, M.H. on October 23, 2013, daughter, Sandra, brothers, Joe, Buck, Bud and sisters, Dorothy, Lila, Wilma and Bonnie.
